The regional CCTV platform integrates the various video camera networks existing in the Brussels-Capital Region to enable the sharing of images for the benefit of the parties concerned (police zones, public transport, Brussels Mobility, Port of Brussels, etc.), in strict compliance with the laws on privacy and the use of surveillance cameras. It collects data from Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras for police requirements, route controls and the low-emission zone (LEZ) as well as drone images which are provided by the federal police.The data

The video surveillance platform allows different networks to share their cameras. When a network becomes accessible on the platform, all the cameras that make it up are added to the data. Therefore, this data evolves in successive stages every time a network connects.Comments

This data records reports submitted by the public, generally meaning those entered by citizens. Reports submitted by professionals (municipal employees, Bruxelles-Propreté agents, law enforcement officers, police officers, for example) are marked as private by default. In 2019, 66% of incidents were reported by citizens. Reports in progress also include reports that have not yet been managed.Comments
For the past 2 years, inhabitants report the most incidents, which shows how well the application has been appropriated by citizens. Currently, the category most used (53%) relates to waste and public cleanliness (illegal dumping, torn or uncollected rubbish bags, for example), followed by damaged facades, and then signage problems. A new category was added in April 2020 for reporting abandoned bicycles. This category will be extended to abandoned vehicles, including shared scooters.
