Tech companies in sectors connected with smart city applications can get support from the EU’s Electronic Components & Systems for European Leadership (ECSEL) programme. Innoviris is an ECSEL partner.
Electronic components and systems
are ubiquitous key technologies in our daily lives. Smartphones, transport, credit cards, electricity networks, smart cities and even smart government: all these sectors are based on the integration of chips or semi-conductors linked to on-board software.
The ECSEL programme has been set up to support research, development and innovation (RDI) at companies in this sector. Specifically, it targets the field of electronic components and systems (on-board IT systems, nanotechnologies and integration of smart or cyber-physical systems). The aim is to enable the application of these technologies to meet five major societal challenges: smart mobility, smart society, smart energy, smart health and smart production.
The programme is co-financed by the European Union and
Innoviris for the Brussels-Capital Region. It comes within the scope of the
EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework programme.
