At the Brussels Smart City Event State Secretary for Digital Transition Bianca Debaets has appointed Pieter Ballon as the first Brussels Smart city Ambassador.
Mister Ballon is a professor at VUB university and director at
smart city research facility iMinds. He is a true authority on the subject of Smart Cities. As an ambassador his role will consist of advising and representing the Brussels region both at the national and international levels. Together with the State Secretary Bianca Debaets he will select the next Brussels Smart City Ambassador.
