Smart City – and every good thing that comes with it – were at the heart of the Brussels Smart City Event, on Tuesday 3 May 2016. Hundreds of Brussels citizens showed up for this inspiring evening at the Tour & Taxis venue.
Thirty start-ups shared their work and ideas in the Smart Street. In the main hall both Belgian and international keynote speakers gave inspiring presentations. The Brussels-Capital region possesses many assets to become a state-of-the-art Smart City.
A variety of Brussels based start-ups showed how citizens benefit from a smart city: smart mobility apps that make traffic more fluid, a tool sharing mobile app, a smart bicycle bell that functions as a GPS, etc. Our guests were sent off with inspiration galore and with a drive to become part of the smart future of Brussels.
Brussels Smart City, a strong marketing tool
State secretary Bianca Debaets is proud of the meticulously organized event: “
I am particularly happy that the people of Brussels show up in big numbers again. It shows we have restored confidence after the terrible attacks. We will use Brussels Smart City as a strong marketing tool to show the world we’re back in business.”
