Today, citizens and visitors alike can use wifi.brussels in all 70 (pre)metro stations in Brussels, both at the entrance of the station and on the platforms.
As announced early on in the year, the STIB-MIVB (The Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company) has made the commitment to fit every metro station in the Brussels-Capital Region with free wireless internet hotspots towards the end of 2017. Today, citizens and visitors alike can use wifi.brussels in all 70 (pre)metro stations in Brussels, both at the entrance of the station and on the platforms.
Everyone in Brussels can now count on a total of 170 places where wifi.brussels is available. This makes Brussels a frontrunner in Belgium, and allows us to reach our goal to have as many people as possible enjoy our Smart City.
The additional Wi-Fi access in all of the (pre)metro stations complements the existing hotspots, like the ones at the Grand Place, place Flagey, and place Simonis among others. We continue to develop and deploy wifi.brussels across the region, and will soon add a hotspot at place Cardinal Mercier in Jette to the list.
