Hackoustic - 29 & 30 March 2018

27 March 2018

On 29 and 30 March, a hackathon will take place organised in partnership between the CIRB (Brussels Smart City) and BeCode on the issue of noise pollution: Hackoustic!

This hackathon is a perfect fit with the Brussels Smart City strategy as developed by the CIRB, and with the BeCode training sessions needs.

The aim of Brussels Smart City is to meet the challenges of urban development in the Brussels-Capital Region by highlighting three fundamental dimensions:

  • sustainable development in response to environmental issues.
  • human development in response to social issues.
  • economic development in response to prosperity issues.

BeCode (FR/NL) in turn is promoting immersion in IT culture by strongly encouraging training participants to join forces around collaborative projects such as hackathons.

HACKOUSTIC 2018 is a 12-hour hackathon during which BeCode code learners will have the opportunity to work on noise pollution issues in the Brussels-Capital Region.

The specific aim of this challenge is to create a service that allows sound data in Brussels to be geolocated and visualised and matched up with the available Smart City data (in particular on the portal opendatastore.brussels).

The results of this hackathon will be presented to a jury at 3 p.m. on 30 March.

We will be sure to keep you informed of any projects that result from it.
