Pedestrianise Chaussée d’Helmet

Chaussée d’Helmet in Schaerbeek is chaotic. I think the street should be pedestrianised all along the tram route. Children and pedestrians are not safe there due to the dangerous behaviour of some drivers. I also use the tram and find the traffic situation frustrating, as each day the tram is blocked by someone double-parking or parking any way they like. Also, there is very little space for pedestrians as the pavement is very narrow... to leave more space for cars. If Brussels wants to make environmental progress, it needs to encourage green transport (bicycles, walking, scooters, etc.) rather than polluting and damaging thermal vehicles. I think everyone would like this street to be pedestrian, as it would be pleasanter and safer for people to walk on and use the various shops there, ALL of which are LOCAL businesses! You don’t need a car to shop there as the customers live in the neighbourhood. The shopkeepers would benefit in the long run as this would encourage customers to come (back). Thank you for the initiative.
