Europe's pre-eminent event for smart building stakeholders...

This year, the Smart Buildings for Smart Cities Summer Universities (UESB4SC) – Europe's pre-eminent event for smart building stakeholders – will be held, not in Lyon, but in Brussels' SQUARE Convention Centre! The Brussels and Flemish Brabant Construction Confederation has joined forces with France's Smart Buildings Alliance (SBA) to organise the sixth edition of this prestigious international conference in the very heart of Europe!
 
More than 1,500 European industry stakeholders are expected to attend, including public authorities, administrations, real estate developers and investors, construction companies, architects, engineering and design offices, insurance companies, system integrators, installers, software companies, telecoms operators, energy companies, consulting firms, facility managers and manufacturers.
 
The development of smart building usage in sustainable cities
 
Visitors to the SB4SC Summer Universities on 4 and 5 September will be able to consider and learn about the development of smart building usage in sustainable cities through interactions, discussions and exchanges. This year's event will be introduced by Brussels Mayor Philippe Close.
 
Speakers from a variety of backgrounds will come to share their ideas, including:
 
  • Mohamed Ridouani, Mayor of Leuven
  • Akim Oural, Deputy Mayor of Lille and head of a mission to promote French smart cities internationally for the French government
  • Cécile Maisonneuve, President of La Fabrique de la Cité
  • Jean-Louis Etienne, explorer
  • Jan Komarek, IoT Programme Officer at the European Commission
  • Sophie Viger, Managing Director of the school 42
 
Highlights of the programme include 3 plenary talks, 40 thematic workshops and an exhibition of 100 solutions to explain, demonstrate and address the challenges of the digital and energy transformation currently under way in buildings and cities.
