On 15, 16 and 17 October, the Digital Spring will be held at Brussels Expo. Organised in collaboration with the I Love Science Festival, it will put digital creation in the spotlight. The event is completely free of charge.
Following in the footsteps of Printemps Numérique in the Canadian city of Montreal, a Digital Spring event will be taking place in Brussels at the initiative of Rudi Vervoort, the Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region. The aim of Digital Spring is to familiarise as many people as possible with different technologies and digital creations.
During the event, visitors will be able to explore a vast range of exhibitions, workshops and digital experiences. To highlight the cooperation with Printemps Numérique in Montreal, there will be a special opening night this year. During that evening, a work resulting from a collaboration between Brussels and Montreal artists will be presented. Digital Spring is organised by visit.brussels and the Brussels Regional Informatics Centre.
Minister Bernard Clerfayt, responsible for digitisation, work and vocational training in the Brussels-Capital Region Government: “Digital Spring is an opportunity to showcase the very best in the field of Smart Cities. The projects our government departments have realised over the last few years here in Brussels absolutely show that we are not to be outdone in this field. In fact, these projects will really be put in the spotlight during the event. Digital Spring also allows us to make the public aware of the importance of digital technology — and who knows, there might be a few who find their true calling! After all, demand on the labour market for these types of IT skills is showing no signs of slowing down.”

STIB-MIVB bus 88 and 84 to Heysel — Heysel stop
Tram: Tram 7 to Heysel — Heysel stop
Train: To travel from Brussels South to Brussels Expo, take Metro line 6 to Roi BaudouinKoning Boudewijn and get off at Heysel. This journey takes around 15 minutes. From Brussels Central, take Metro line 5 to Erasme-Erasmus or line 1 to Brussels West. At Beekkant, take Metro line 6 to Roi Baudouin-Koning Boudewijn and get off at Heysel. This journey takes around 20 minutes.
Accessibility:
We are doing everything we can to make the event as accessible as possible to people with reduced mobility. Brussels Expo has several disabled entrances. Specially adapted entrances and lifts make it much easier to move around the site.
Covid Safe Ticket:
Visitors aged 12 and over will need to show a Covid Safe Ticket to access the I Love Science Festival and the Digital Spring event. You can do so by showing a valid QR code on your smartphone via the official CovidSafeBE app. Visitors can also bring a physical document if they prefer. In this case, you will need to show a valid vaccination certificate (two weeks after the administration of a second dose or four weeks after the administration of a single dose), the negative result of a PCR test (this is valid for 72 hours), a valid recovery certificate (11 to max. 180 after a positive PCR test) or the negative result of a rapid test (this is valid for 48 hours). In addition, visitors will need to be able to show proof of identity. Groups and schools are welcome too, if they book in advance.
