The Brussels Government's SmartMove initiative is a project based on three pillars: smart car taxation, a broader mobility offer and a mobile application that will contribute to the deployment of this new mobility model. In order to test this new mobility model, the Brussels-Capital Region is looking for several hundred citizens, from Brussels, Wallonia or Flanders! A short explanation.
Making our capital more liveable, healthy and attractive is the goal of the Smart Move tax project to relieve traffic congestion. In order to achieve this, the Brussels Region is using an innovative application and is currently looking for several hundred people willing to test it, for the calculation and registration of a future "smart" kilometre tax that will partially replace traffic taxes.
What is expected of you? Just some information about you and your mobility habits. If your profile corresponds to the eligibility and selection criteria, you will receive an e-mail confirming your participation in one of the testing phases with all the practical information. Testers are expected to be engaged on an ongoing basis, both to test the application and to share their feedback.
The testers we are looking for are both Brussels residents and commuters from Flanders and Wallonia. They will receive a virtual budget that will be used for their journeys and the means of transport used. An evaluation will take place at the end of September. A larger scale test will follow in 2023.
The time required to complete this survey is 5 to 10 minutes.
