On 24 and 25 March, Digital Spring returns in the heart of Brussels

01 March 2023

The third edition of Digital Spring will be held on 24 and 25 March. Two days entirely dedicated to new technologies which promote digital transformation, which will take place at the RESET building. Once again, this year, Digital Spring is completely free.

At Digital Spring, visitors will discover a whole range of digital initiatives set up in the Brussels-Capital Region to make our lives easier. This will be done through activities, conferences and demonstrations by some 40 exhibitors. There will also be numerous workshops to learn about coding, robotics, virtual reality and apps that make everyday life easier (FixMyStreet, IRISbox, etc.).

Visitors will, for instance, be able to test an artificial intelligence app which automatically recognising emotions. They will also be introduced to the computer of the future. A circular, ecologically designed, repairable and upgradeable laptop, with limited environmental impact.

Digital Spring is aimed at all audiences: fans of all things digital, young people who want to make their own video games or visitors who are just curious about the possibilities of artificial intelligence.

Digital in the air

Cameras, sensors, satellite systems and civilian-use drones capture more and more data in our cities. The use of this data enables an impressive number of intelligent applications. These can be used for air quality monitoring, air traffic management, telecommunications, GPS navigation, event organisation, human and facility safety and much more. This all falls under the heading of digital in the air, which is also the theme of this year’s edition.

During the 'Air fly control' activity, visitors will discover the capabilities of a microcontroller to retrieve data on air quality and CO2 levels. By the end of this workshop, you’ll know everything there is to know about programming a drone.

Through the organisation of Digital Spring, Paradigm and visit.brussels aim to promote all digital initiatives that make life easier for citizens and businesses. Thanks to the democratisation of new technologies, digital technology is now an integral part of our daily lives. This is why this event aims to raise awareness of them, but also focuses on job opportunities and training in the digital sector.

"Digital Spring will introduce you to the best in computing in the Brussels-Capital Region. It’s an interactive experience, during which the public will be able to feel, test, develop and code. Who knows, maybe Digital Spring will inspire visitors to choose a digital profession. After all, this is increasingly in demand on the Brussels labour market," said Bernard Clerfayt, Brussels Minister for Digital Transition and Employment.
