Fix My Street wins Agoria Smart City Award

11 December 2015

Agoria, the Belgian technology industry federation, together with its partner Belfius Smart City Award, has given its Smart City Technology Award Digital 2015 to the application Fix My Street.

The Agoria Smart City Technology Awards are given to cities and municipalities that make use of innovative technologies in particular to create a pleasanter living and working environment and to improve communication with the public. Fix My Street received this award having been judged the best smart-city project in the field of smart digital communication and infrastructure.

Fix My Street, a single point of contact

Fix My Street is very much part of the smartcity.brussels strategy and serves as the single point of contact to report a problem on the public highway (faulty street lamps, potholes, etc.) to any of the Brussels public services (municipalities, Region, etc.).

The application runs counter to the traditional approach to relations between users and the public authorities. There is no longer any need to find out which public service to contact: as soon as the problem has been reported, Fix My Street forwards it to the public highway manager or the authority concerned.

Fix My Street was developed by the Brussels Regional Informatics Centre to meet the needs of Brussels Mobility. A mobile version of the application is available via the Apple Store and Google Play. An internet version can also be used at the address www.fixmystreet.brussels.
