22 September 2021

During the Brussels Days, the Brussels-Capital Region will be showcasing its achievements. A delegation of Brussels representatives from the creative, tourist and sustainable economic world will act as ambassadors for the Brussels Region.

The delegation is led by Rudi Vervoort, Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region, Sven Gatz, Brussels Minister for Finance and Budget, and Pascal Smet, State Secretary of the Brussels-Capital Region in charge of European and International Relations.

Existing ties are strengthened, new contacts are made, know-how is shared.

On 24 September, among other things, a meeting will be held at the Belgian Embassy in Paris. On the Belgian side this meeting will be chaired by the State Secretary Pascal Smet. BRICs Smart City manager Céline Vanderborght and BRICs Smart City advisor Tanguy De Lestré will discuss Smart City Brussels, in particular transversal projects on data management and the digital appropriation plan. Mobility and energy projects will also be put on the table, as well as two local public projects on smart bins and citizen participation.

During this meeting, Lionel Anciaux, CEO and chairman of Software.brussels and IoT Factory, Etay Oren, CEO of Communithings and Hugo De Brouwer, Customer Success manager of CitizenLab, will also present their realisations and plans. Furthermore on the programme there is a visit to the Urban Lab that will provide the necessary inspiration for setting up our own innovation or smart city lab in the Brussels Region.
